Shri Khodidas Parmar , An Artist is a face above the crowd.

Shri Khodidas Parmar received Art Training in painting from Guru Somalal Shah in 1948-1951, He has done M. A. with Gujarati and Sanskrit. He was Lecturer at V.A.M.C. College, Bhavnagar (Guide of PhD. In Folk Literature at Bhavnagar University.

Now a Days he is working as Folk Style and traditional Painter in Bhavnagar and wants to write a book on Folk Motifs on Saurashtra and Kutch, so he collecting Folk Motifs- drawings such as from Embroidery, Bead Work, Wall- Paintings, Aalekh Drawings, Pottery Paintings, Terracotta, Toys, Tomb Stones Wood Carvings etc. from Gujarat State.
 
 


 

He has received several awards in Paintings :
 
 - National Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi in 1957
 - Gold Medal, Gujarat Uni., Ahmedabad in1957.
 - He has been awarded eight prizes by All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi from
   1954, 1960, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1995.
 - He was awarded Two Highly Commended from “The Bombay Art Society”, Bombay in
   1953,1956.
 - He has won seven prizes by” Kalidas Samaroh, Vikramashila Vidhyapith:, Ujjain (M.P.)
 
He has participated in many exhibitions in New Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai, Madras, Ujjain, Shrinagar, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Poona, Bhuvaneshwar, Hyderabad, Rajkot, Jamnagar, London , Mosco, Sharjah Etc. He has solely held exhibitions at Ahmedabad (1980), Vallabh Vidyanagar(1982), Ahmedabad (1992), Rajkot (1992), Bhavnagar (1992)
